Imagine que você é uma mãe gestante. Seu primeiro passo é procurar acompanhamento médico, conforme orienta o Ministério da Saúde e a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), certo? E o que fazer quando a Prefeitura da sua cidade não oferece o pré-natal, que é direito das cidadãs e obrigatória a oferta? Esse foi o caso de Vanessa dos Santos, uma mãe que perdeu seu bebê por falta de atendimento médico da Prefeitura de Lagarto.
A reportagem foi de Aclécio Prata, da BCE TV, que acompanhou o caso da Vanessa. Ele buscou uma resposta da secretária de saúde, Polyana Ribeiro, cunhada da prefeita Hilda Ribeiro, mas a secretária não quis responder à reportagem. Ela foi perguntada na Câmara de Vereadores, mas preferiu sair correndo, fugir das perguntas. O caso ficou sem uma resposta da gestão de Hilda e Vanessa, infelizmente, ficou sem seu bebê pela falta de compromisso da administração municipal com as gestantes do município.
Vanessa cansou de procurar o atendimento no posto de saúde do Bairro Ademar de Carvalho, mas não obteve sucesso para realizar exames básicos e fundamentais para a gestação, que são exames laboratoriais e ultrassonografia. Medicamentos, vitaminas etc. para suprir a gestação? Nada. Ela até que tentou pegar com a Prefeitura por quatro vezes o sulfato ferroso e o ácido fólico, esse importantíssimo para evitar malformação no feto, mas não conseguiu. Ela então não tomou as vitaminas. O bebê dela não resistiu.
Infelizmente, Vanessa não teve tempo de evitar o pior, a perda do seu filho. Vanessa contou à reportagem a saga de uma mãe humilhada pela gestão da prefeita Hilda Ribeiro e que terminou da pior maneira possível. Essa é a prova da responsabilidade do poder público na saúda da população, ou neste caso a irresponsabilidade.
