O brasileiro Sidney de Carvalho Mesquita, conhecido como Tio Chico Brasil, faz parte da edição de 2023 do Guinness Book, o Livro dos Recordes, por conseguir projetar seu globo ocular 18,2 milímetros para frente. O homem conquistou o título após uma mediação oficial feita em 10 de janeiro deste ano.
Em entrevista ao Guinness Book, Tio Chico contou que descobriu seu talento aos 9 anos. Ele gostava de fazer caretas na frente do espelho e, ao fazer isso, percebeu que seus olhos podiam saltar muito mais longe do que o normal.
De acordo com Tio Chico, ele consegue ficar de 20 a 30 segundos com os olhos ‘para fora’. A habilidade incomum se chama proptose, não é considerada uma doença e não causa problemas de saúde.
Segundo o brasileiro, ele não sente dor ao projetar seus olhos para frente, no entanto, pode sentir uma certa sensação de queimação, pois o oxigênio começa a secar os olhos. Tio Chico explicou ainda que usa colírio para cuidar dos olhos.
Ainda conforme o recordista, ele considera a habilidade um “dom” e usa durante seus trabalhos como DJ e cosplay do Tio Chico, de “A Família Addams”. “Minha habilidade é definitivamente um dom. Veio do meu pai, da minha mãe e do criador também”, disse Sidney.
