Um atleta da Costa Rica, Jesús López Ortiz, morreu após ser devorado por um crocodilo. A informação foi confirmada pelo Deportivo Río Cañas, clube do jogador.
Segundo o treinador da equipe, Luis Montes, o jogador decidiu nadar em um rio durante uma visita familiar, ignorando o crocodilo assassino. “Infelizmente, ele tomou uma decisão errada. Ao entrar para tomar banho, aconteceu o que aconteceu”, disse.
Moradores da região conseguiram registrar um vídeo no momento do acidente. Eles orientam que as pessoas não entrem no rio, pois é local conhecido pela presença dos animais.
Por meio de nota, o clube lamentou o falecimento do jogador do jogador: “Descanse em paz, Chucho, nos unimos à dor de toda a sua família”. O jogador deixa dois filhos: um de 8 anos e outro de 3 anos.
