No início da manhã desta sexta-feira, 18, Sergipe perdeu o comunicador e diretor da Rádio Jornal, Augusto Júnior. Ele foi vítima de uma queda no estacionamento do condomínio em que residia, localizado no bairro Ponto Novo, em Aracaju.
Segundo informações, ele teria escorregado, batido com a cabeça no meio-fio e acabou falecendo.
TRAJETÓRIA
João Augusto Celestino de Assis, artisticamente, Augusto Júnior, nasceu em 16 de maio de 1961, na casa de número 328, rua Itaporanga, Centro. Seus pais: Augusto Bezerra de Assis e Maria Bernadete Celestino.
No rádio, fez de tudo, porém se especializou no esporte. Por 21 anos, fez plantão esportivo. Também apresentou resenhas esportivas e programas ligados ao esporte. Em 1996, lançou o programa de jornalismo “Balanço Geral” no final da tarde, das 17h às 19 horas.
É diretor da Rádio Jornal há mais de 25 anos e está na emissora há mais de 30 anos. Foi o 1º diretor de Jornalismo da TV Jornal, canal 13, e superintendente da Rede Jornal durante alguns anos, TV Jornal, FM Jornal, Rádio Jornal AM, FM Jornal de Estância, FM Jornal de Propriá e Rádio Imperatriz dos Campos, de Tobias Barreto.
A primeira copa do mundo coberta por uma emissora sergipana teve a sua participação direta. Foi a de 1986, no México. Na Administração Pública, esteve na Fundação Aperipê como superintendente-adjunto.
