Na manhã de terça-feira, 17 de outubro, a educação foi celebrada com grande entusiasmo durante a cerimônia do Prêmio Escola Destaque 2023, um reconhecimento de destaque para as instituições de ensino públicas do estado. Este ano, a premiação recebeu o nome da professora Ada Augusta Celestino Bezerra, uma justa homenagem pela sua notável contribuição para a educação.
A Escola Municipal Dr. Pedro Soares, localizada na pitoresca Ribuleirinha, Zona da Praia, garantiu seu lugar no pódio como escola destaque, pela segunda vez consecutiva. O reconhecimento veio após conquistar a segunda melhor nota no Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (IDEB), atingindo a pontuação de 7,2 no 2° Ano do Ensino Fundamental. Esse desempenho a coloca entre as instituições de ensino com melhores resultados, tanto em âmbito estadual quanto municipal, no programa Alfabetizar Pra Valer, evidenciando a excelência do trabalho desenvolvido pelos professores, equipe gestora, alunos e pais.
O secretário de Educação, João Luiz, compartilhou sua satisfação diante dessa conquista: “Transformar a educação em um poderoso instrumento de *inclusão social* é mais do que um compromisso; é uma missão. Em nome de todos os docentes, equipe pedagógica e comunidade escolar, bem como em nome do nosso prefeito Gilson Andrade, parabenizo calorosamente os alunos da Escola Pedro Soares. Pelo segundo ano consecutivo, eles brilham no IDEB. Que esta vitória sirva de inspiração para outras unidades escolares, incentivando o aprimoramento da qualidade do ensino e a transformação de vidas por meio da educação.”
Além do secretário João Luiz, estiveram presentes no evento o Governador Fábio Mitidieri, o Vice-Governador e Secretário de Estado da Educação, Zezinho Sobral, a Diretora da Escola Elizana Soares, membros da equipe do Departamento Pedagógico e demais autoridades, celebrando juntos esse importante marco na educação do estado.
