Barra faz justa homenagem à um dos maiores Governadores do Estado. João está lá…

João da Água… João das Estradas… João do Povo!
Nesta quarta-feira 27 de Dezembro, às 16hs, a Prefeitura de Barra dos Coqueiros fez uma justa e significativa homenagem à uma figura pública que dificilmente sairá da memória dos sergipanos; o saudoso ex-governador João Alves Filho, Engenheiro Civil, Prefeito de Aracaju por dois mandatos e Governador do Estado por três vezes.
Visionário e amante do povo, realizou nas suas gestões obras importantes de infraestrutura que construíram seu legado enquanto gestor público.
Uma delas e talvez a mais importante foi a ponte que liga a capital Aracaju ao município de Barra dos Coqueiros, por isso a justa homenagem; um monumento primoroso que deixa para as gerações futuras o rosto sorridente desse líder político que sempre fez questão de estar ao lado de seu povo.
O inconfundível chapéu de couro remete ao Sertanejo, personagem que sempre foi uma prioridade em seus governos, que lhe trouxeram a carinhosa alcunha de João da Água.
Na cerimônia, além do Prefeito Alberto Macedo e da ex-senadora Maria do Carmo Alves, o ex-senador Valadares e o ex-deputado José Carlos Machado entre outros.
Convenhamos que a iniciativa do atual Prefeito de Barra dos Coqueiros Alberto Macedo, vem não apenas valorizar a obra de engenharia mais impactante de Sergipe, como eternizar esse homem que pôde externar em seus feitos todo o amor que teve pelo povo Sergipano.
