O primeiro incidente ocorreu nas primeiras horas da madrugada, na Rua 01 da Segunda Etapa do bairro Queimadas, próximo à Quadra de Esportes, onde Francisco Junio Fernandes da Cruz, de 36 anos, foi brutalmente atacado. Ao retornar para casa, sua esposa encontrou o marido sangrando, vítima de perfurações no pescoço e na cabeça, supostamente causadas por uma faca. A equipe da Força Tática do 3.º Batalhão de Polícia Militar (3.º BPM) foi acionada, e o Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (SAMU 192) confirmou o óbito, embora a motivação e autoria do crime permaneçam desconhecidas.
O segundo episódio ocorreu por volta das 19h30, na Praça São Luiz, no bairro Rotary, onde Carlos Wagner dos Santos, de 43 anos, perdeu a vida após ser atingido por um objeto perfurocortante. O incidente foi inicialmente acompanhado pelos policiais do 3.º Batalhão de Polícia Militar (3.º BPM), através do Getam. Ao lado do corpo da vítima, foi encontrada uma faca tipo peixeira, possivelmente a mesma utilizada no crime. Testemunhas relataram que Carlos Wagner, conhecido como Pancadeiro, havia discutido com outra pessoa momentos antes do homicídio, em uma residência próxima à Igreja São Luiz. O desentendimento resultou na tragédia, com ambos os envolvidos armados. A cena do crime foi preservada pela polícia, que acionou a equipe local de crimes da Polícia Civil, bem como a Polícia Técnica Científica do Instituto de Criminalística e o Instituto Médico Legal (IML).
