O Ministério do Desenvolvimento e Assistência Social, Família e Combate à Fome (MDS) deu início à cobrança de cidadãos que receberam o Auxílio Emergencial de maneira irregular durante os anos de 2020 e 2021.
De acordo com o governo, esse monitoramento ocorre por meio do sistema VEJAE, disponível no site oficial do ministério, onde os beneficiários podem consultar sua situação e, se necessário, efetuar a devolução do valor indevido.
As pessoas que receberam o auxílio durante o ano de 2020 e 2021, mas que não atendiam aos critérios necessários, devem devolver os valores recebidos. Segundo a pasta, as pessoas estão sendo notificadas por SMS, e-mail e pelo aplicativo Notifica.
O processo de ressarcimento, ou seja, a cobrança para a devolução dos valores, com a notificação dos cidadãos que tinham algum indício de irregularidade no sistema, está disponível desde o dia 6 de março de 2025.
Além disso, o portal disponibiliza um Guia do VEJAE, uma seção de Perguntas Frequentes (FAQ) e outros materiais informativos para auxiliar os cidadãos no processo.
Auxílio irregular
Um relatório da Controladoria-Geral da União (CGU) mostrou que o governo federal pagou o Auxílio Emergencial a ao menos 135,7 mil mortos, entre abril de 2020 e março de 2021, o que custou o total de R$ 336,1 milhões aos cofres públicos.
Esse valor corresponde apenas à primeira fase do auxílio, criado em abril de 2020.
