O site Xexo Sergipano venceu dois processos contra a atual prefeita de Lagarto Hilda, um deles também contra seu marido, deputado federal Gustinho Ribeiro. Os processos 202055501022 e 202055502369 não tiveram provimento na Justiça sergipana, favorecendo o site e desfavorecendo o casal.
De forma resumida, Hilda havia acusado este site de difamá-la, mas a Justiça entendeu que a imprensa estava apenas exercendo seu direito de liberdade de expressão, não encontrando absolutamente nada que ferisse a honra da prefeita. Deve-se entender que autoridades públicas estão sujeitas a críticas e tem que saber conviver com elas, evitando inclusive a tentativa de cercear os profissionais da comunicação.
Já no outro processo Hilda perdeu o prazo de apresentar queixa-crime e o processo, onde também aparece o nome do deputado Gustinho Ribeiro, foi arquivado. O site esclarece que as revelações, denúncias, opiniões e críticas contundentes são de total relevância para a população lagartense e merece o devido respeito e liberdade.
