De acordo com as informações policiais, a decisão judicial foi expedida pelo Juízo da Comarca de Salgado. O investigado estava foragido desde o mês de agosto. Sidney Vieira de Sousa e Silva estava usando tornozeleira eletrônica mas, ao tomar conhecimento do mandado, deixou de recarregar a bateria do equipamento para evitar ser localizado.
Segundo a apuração policial, nesse período o investigado mudou de endereço diversas vezes. Ele permaneceu pouco tempo em diferentes imóveis e não pagou os aluguéis. O preso foi conduzido ao Cope e se encontra à disposição da Justiça.

Em novembro do ano passado, Sidney Vieira de Sousa e Silva também foi preso em flagrante pelo crime de estelionato. Natural de Recife (PE), nessa época, o investigado utilizava um automóvel alugado para se deslocar por diversos municípios de Sergipe, aplicando golpes em estabelecimentos comerciais que realizam a distribuição de bebidas. Ele simulava que concluía a transferência pelo PIX, mas não concretizava o pagamento.
