Um ônibus caiu de uma ponte na madrugada desta segunda-feira (30) e deixou 4 mortos e pelo menos 28 feridos na BR-116, em Além Paraíba. Segundo a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF), o veículo levava um time de futebol, de nome ainda não informado, de Ubaporanga (MG) para Duque de Caxias (RJ).
Conforme o Corpo de Bombeiros, estavam no ônibus o motorista, comissão técnica e jogadores. Inicialmente, quatro corpos foram retirados em meios as ferragens. Vinte e três vítimas foram encaminhadas para o Hospital São Salvador, em Além Paraíba. Outras 5 levadas para a Casa de Caridade Leopoldinense. Não há detalhes do estado de saúde delas.
Com o impacto, o veículo parou de cabeça para baixo perto de um riacho. A causa do acidente não foi informada, bem como a dinâmica. A viagem consta como registrada no sistema de Licenças de Viagem Nacional da Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT).
O Corpo de Bombeiros de Leopoldina, Cataguases, Além Paraíba e Juiz de Foraatua no local na manhã desta segunda-feira. A PRF também auxilia nos trabalhos.
