O frei da Igreja Católica, Elvécio de Jesus Carrara, de 54 anos, foi preso em flagrante por produzir e armazenar fotos e vídeos de adolescentes.
O homem era frei em São João del-Rei, na região do Campo das Vertentes, em Minas, em Goiás e São Paulo, até o início do mês de março. O acusado foi localizado pela Polícia Civil de Minas Gerais em São Paulo na última quarta-feira (03)
Elvécio foi desligado do cargo após a própria congregação descobrir o envolvimento dele com a pedofilia, o frei foi suspenso das atividades e denunciado na polícia por um membro da igreja.
Segundo o delegado Evandro Radaelli, da Delegacia de Proteção à Criança e ao Adolescente, o frei mantinha um projeto social em Minas e São Paulo que teve início em São João del-Rei, onde ele nasceu.
Logo o projeto dado às crianças e adolescentes se expandiu para a capital paulista. Hoje, cerca de 300 menores são atendidos pela ONG que tem projetos nas áreas educacional, cultural, esportiva e assistencial.
A polícia flagrou no celular de Elvécio, fotos e vídeos adulto de adolescentes. Em algumas imagens, ele aparece vestido e, em outras, somente os menores são mostrados, mas sem vestimentas. Até o momento, a PCMG identificou uma vítima, um jovem de 17 anos, morador de São João del-Rei.
“Ele produziu os vídeos, armazenou e ficou com eles no telefone. Só ter um vídeo de conteúdo intimo envolvendo crianças e adolescentes no próprio celular já está reiteradamente em estado de flagrante. Não necessariamente a gravação foi feita naquele momento”, explica o delegado.
A primeira vítima identificada é natural do município de Goiás, cidade no interior do estado com mesmo nome, e foi chamada para participar da ONG em Minas Gerais, no qual mantém estudos e moradia para jovens.
De acordo com a investigação do caso, o padre acusado dava presentes ao adolescente para ganhar a confiança da vítima, além de pagar a escola, ele também oferecia dinheiro e pedia para receber visitas em São Paulo. Não necessariamente condicionando tais favores a relações intimas ou gravação dos atos
Durante o flagrante, a Polícia Civil recolheu celulares do acusado e acessou os aparelhos para perícia. O padre está preso na capital paulista e pode pegar até 12 anos de prisão. Além desses crimes, ele poderá responder por exploração intima e estupro de vulnerável, a depender da conclusão das investigações.
Outras vítimas podem denunciar o caso à Polícia por meio do 181, o sigilo é garantido.
Em nota ao portal Estado de Minas Gerais, a Ordem dos Pregadores Dominicanos informou que ‘se solidariza profundamente com as possíveis vítimas de fr. Elvécio de Jesus Carrara’ e que as obras sociais que ele preside são de iniciativa pessoal. “Ele nunca teve permissão de nenhum de seus legítimos superiores para tais obras”, afirmam.
Na ocasião, a Ordem também esclareceu que, além de denunciar o caso, está colaborando com a polícia nas investigações.
