A Polícia Federal (PF) deteve uma pessoa e apreendeu 290 kg de maconha em um avião monomotor em Belém, no Pará. A CNN apurou que a aeronave é utilizada pelo ex-deputado federal Josué Bengtson, tio da senadora e ex-ministra Damares Alves.
Além disso, o veículo está em nome da Igreja Quadrangular, na qual Bengston é pastor e líder no Pará.
Ainda segundo a PF, a droga seria levada para Petrolina, em Pernambuco. A abordagem aconteceu no sábado (27), pouco antes das 07h30, horário previsto para a decolagem em um hangar de voos particulares do Aeroporto Internacional de Belém.
O suspeito caminhava pelo pátio em direção ao avião e, ao ver as autoridades, correu para fora do aeroporto, mas foi alcançado, de acordo com a polícia.
“A droga ocupava todo o espaço que sobrava na aeronave, além dos assentos para um passageiro e o piloto”, explica a nota da PF.
Um inquérito foi aberto para apurar o crime, e o avião foi apreendido, assim como o celular do homem detido. “O piloto não foi preso, pois não foi verificada participação dele no crime”, concluiu a polícia.
Em nota, a assessoria de Damares confirmou o parentesco entre a ex-ministra e Bengston e disse que, sobre o caso, “a senadora tomou conhecimento hoje pela manhã, através da imprensa”.
Ainda de acordo com a nota enviada à CNN, ela entrou em contato com a família e “foi informada que a denúncia à Polícia Federal sobre uma carga suspeita carregada na aeronave foi realizada pelos responsáveis pelo avião, ou seja, pela própria Igreja”.
A CNN procurou a Igreja Quadrangular e aguarda retorno.
