Um evento tradicional do Agreste sergipano, um dos maiores do Brasil para os profissionais da estrada. A Festa dos Caminhoneiros 2023 se tornou um celeiro de polêmicas.
O que repercutiu nas redes não foram as grandes atrações, o grande público e a organização, mas polêmicas que poderiam ter sido evitadas.
A primeira foi em torno da seleção da Rainha dos Caminhoneiros. A organização deu o título a uma candidata que sequer poderia ter sido inscrita por estar com idade superior ao determinado por uma lei municipal. A segunda colocada precisou ocupar a Justiça para eliminar a primeira e ser coroada.
A segunda polêmica está em torno do uso irregular do gramado do estádio Etelvino Mendonça, o Mendonção, para estacionamento de veículos de particulares, contrariando o motivo da cessão do espaço, que foi para ações de apoio.
Com tudo isso, Adailton Souza parece ter perdido a chance de fazer do evento uma boa estratégia para fortalecer seu capital político na cidade.
