Os servidores contratados da Prefeitura de Ribeirópolis estão com os salários atrasados (referente ao mês de agosto). A reclamação dos trabalhadores é evidente nas redes sociais e começa a repercutir na imprensa. Recentemente, a prefeitura reduziu os salários do prefeito, vice e secretários alegando dificuldades financeiras.
Mesmo “pregando” planejamento em sua gestão, o prefeito Rogério Sobral (PSB) enfrenta problemas financeiros e alguns exemplos são o cancelamento da programação artística da Festa de Emancipação Política em 2023 e do Forró dos Sonhos 2025. Algumas atrações chegaram a serem anunciadas, mas ambos os eventos foram cancelados por falta de recursos.
Em junho de 2023 o prefeito realizou uma grande edição do Forró dos Sonhos, mas alguns dias após o evento exonerou 150 servidores entre contratados e comissionados alegando “corte de gastos”. Agora, o receio de alguns servidores contratados é que além do atraso de salário venham a serem demitidos.
