Foi condenado a 19 anos de prisão em regime fechado, por tentativa de homicídio qualificado, José Weverton dos Santos Silva, o homem que queimou 60% do corpo da companheira, que à época tinha 18 anos e estava grávida de seis meses. A decisão foi tomada através de júri popular, nessa segunda-feira (27), em audiência realizada no Fórum Gumersindo Bessa, em Aracaju.
O crime ocorreu no dia 7 de outubro de 2021, no Bairro Coroa do Meio, na capital. A vítima ficou internada por cerca de 50 dias para tratar queimaduras de terceiro grau e acompanhar o estado de saúde da bebê, que nasceu em janeiro de 2022.
A família da vítima informou que o relacionamento, de cerca de oito meses, era abusivo, com frequentes agressões físicas e psicológicas.
A advogada da vítima, Lamanda Marques, informou que o crime teve cinco qualificadoras. “As qualificadores são feminicídio, motivo torpe, meio incidioso, que foi o fato de ter ateado fogo, além da gravidez. A motivação para o crime teria sido a gestação, que ele não aceitava”, explicou.
O homem foi preso no dia 5 de novembro de 2021. Ele seguirá cumprindo a pena em regime fechado. A Defensoria Pública, que representa o condenado, informou que recorrerá da decisão.
