Instituído em 2011, o “Junho Laranja” é uma campanha dedicada ao diagnóstico, prevenção e tratamento de anemia e da leucemia. Essas doenças podem acometer adultos e crianças.
A anemia é um grave problema de saúde global que, segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde, estima que 42% das crianças com menos de 5 anos de 40% das mulheres grávidas em todo o mundo são anêmicas.
Além disso, a leucemia é um tipo de câncer do sangue, quando glóbulos brancos – os responsáveis por combater infecções – perdem a função de proteger e são produzidos de forma descontrolada.
Assim, as duas doenças acometem parte do sistema sanguíneo do paciente. Desse modo, a campanha de prevenção e conscientização da anemia e da leucemia acontece juntamente com a campanha Junho Vermelho, que é dedicada ao incentivo à doação de sangue.
Sempre atenta e engajada nas causas relacionadas a saúde da nossa população, em seu discurso na sessão plenária da Assembleia Legislativa de Sergipe, a deputada Áurea Ribeiro (Republicanos) se somou a esta campanha alertando sobre sua importância.
“_O “Junho Laranja” é uma campanha que busca promover a conscientização para o diagnóstico precoce e o tratamento da anemia e leucemia. Infelizmente, a anemia e leucemia são doenças no sangue, que atingem milhares de brasileiros. Precisamos estar sensíveis às pessoas que enfrentam os desafios dessas doenças, como os sintomas, questões emocionais e econômicas. É, portanto, um momento de reflexão e ação para cuidarmos dessas pessoas.
Assim, reafirmo o compromisso do meu mandato em criar e apoiar políticas públicas nas áreas da saúde e assistência social que busquem amparar e acolher essas pessoas.
