O secretário-geral da Organização dos Estados Americanos (OEA), Luis Almagro, pediu nesta terça-feira (30) o reconhecimento das atas eleitorais em poder da oposição da Venezuela e que o ditador Nicolás Maduro reconheça a derrota e abra caminho “para o regresso da democracia”.
Em comunicado, a Secretaria-Geral da OEA afirmou que o Conselho Nacional Eleitoral (CNE) ainda não conseguiu apresentar a ata pela qual Maduro teria vencido, o que neste momento seria “risível e patético, se não fosse trágico”.
Na opinião de Almagro, “é imperativo” que Maduro aceite as atas da oposição liderada por Edmundo González Urrutia e María Corina Machado e “consequentemente aceite sua derrota eleitoral e abra o caminho para o regresso da democracia na Venezuela”.
– Caso contrário, seria necessária a realização de novas eleições – diz a entidade.
Almagro defendeu também a criação de um novo CNE para reduzir as irregularidades institucionais que, na sua opinião, assolaram o processo que culminou nas eleições do último domingo (28), cujo resultado tem sido questionado por vários países devido à falta de detalhes sobre a apuração.
O CNE da Venezuela proclamou a vitória de Maduro com 51,20% dos votos contra 44,20% do opositor Edmundo González Urrutia, com 80% das urnas apuradas e sem desagregar os dados. A oposição antichavista, por sua vez, afirma ter em sua posse as atas emitidas no processo eleitoral e habilitou um motor de busca para mostrá-las aos cidadãos.
María Corina Machado garantiu que a oposição majoritária conseguiu obter 73% das atas emitidas nas eleições presidenciais, o que deu a vitória a González Urrutia, com uma diferença “esmagadora”, ao contrário do que foi anunciado pelo CNE.
