No último sábado, 27, o ministro-chefe da Secretaria Geral da Presidência da República, Márcio Macedo; a prefeita de Lagarto, Hilda Ribeiro; o deputado federal Gustinho Ribeiro; o reitor da UFS, Valter Joviniano; e o superintendente Manoel Cerqueira visitaram o Hospital Universitário de Lagarto. O objetivo principal da visita foi anunciar o investimento de R$ 49 milhões no HUL, como parte do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC).
O hospital, que atualmente atende cerca de 3.500 pacientes por mês, incluindo 400 internamentos, está prestes a passar por uma grande ampliação. Esses investimentos permitirão que a Saúde pública de Lagarto e região ganhe um reforço importante, desafogando as unidades municipais. Espera-se que a capacidade de atendimento do hospital aumentará em 50%, passando de 100 para 150 leitos.
Durante a visita, o ministro Márcio Macedo ressaltou a importância dos investimentos em saúde para o desenvolvimento social e econômico do país. “O investimento no Hospital Universitário de Lagarto é uma prova do compromisso do governo com a melhoria das condições de saúde da população. Essa expansão permitirá que aproximadamente 600 pessoas a mais sejam atendidas mensalmente, melhorando significativamente o serviço de saúde oferecido à população da região.”, afirmou o ministro.
A prefeita Hilda Ribeiro destacou o impacto positivo que a ampliação terá para os moradores de Lagarto e municípios vizinhos. “Este investimento é um marco para nossa cidade. A ampliação do Hospital Universitário permitirá um atendimento mais rápido e eficaz, reduzindo filas e proporcionando um cuidado de maior qualidade para nossos cidadãos”, disse Hilda.
O deputado federal Gustinho Ribeiro também enfatizou a relevância deste investimento para a região. “Estamos trabalhando incansavelmente para trazer mais recursos e melhorias para Lagarto. Este montante de R$ 49 milhões é resultado de um esforço conjunto e trará enormes benefícios para a saúde pública local”, declarou o deputado.
