Na madrugada desta quarta-feira, 30, choveu demasiadamente em todo o estado de Sergipe, mas com muito mais intensidade e volume na região Centro-Sul, que apenas neste mês de novembro, foram registrados 600 milímetros de chuva no trecho que compreende os municípios de Itabaianinha, Riachão do Dantas, Lagarto e Tobias Barreto, onde as chuvas foram ainda mais fortes. A situação se acentuou, principalmente, na cidade de Tobias Barreto, onde houve um acumulado de 145 milímetros pluviométricos nas últimas 24h.
O meteorologista Overlan Amaral informou que essas chuvas já eram previstas, em decorrência da zona de convergência do Atlântico Sul, um sistema que chega pela Bahia e atinge Sergipe e Alagoas, adentrando o interior do Nordeste sentido Piauí, Maranhão e a parte Sul do Ceará. Ele frisa que a previsão meteorológica é que esta condição climática permaneça sobre o estado até o próximo sábado, dia 3.
Para o meteorologista Overlan Amaral, esse volume de precipitação é incomum para esta época do ano e reflete as anomalias climáticas pelas quais o mundo inteiro tem atravessado. “É anormal, porque estamos em uma estação em que as chuvas são menores, não é um período extremamente chuvoso. Estamos passando por anomalias climáticas com a chegada desses sistemas, devido ao efeito global da La Niña. As frentes chegam à nossa região e aqui elas se tropicalizam, ganham mais humidade, mais temperatura e se transformam em uma zona de convecção. Esse esquema de convecção, que é típico das regiões quentes e tropicais, geram mais humidade”, explica o meteorologista.

O meteorologista Overlan Amaral afirma que esse volume de chuvas é um recorde para a região, não apenas nas últimas 24h, mas em todo o mês de novembro. “Durante todo o mês de novembro, temos um acumulado de mais de 600 milímetros, um índice que supera em mais de 1000% a projeção de precipitações previstas para novembro, que deveria girar em torno de 60%. Por isso que aquela região de Tobias está toda alagada. Em todo o estado choveu muito mais que o previsto, mas na região Centro-Sul, certamente a intensidade foi bem maior”, ressalta Overlan.
